On Young People, Service, Rights, and Responsibilities

Recently, Alex Koroknay-Palicz, the head of the National Youth Rights Association, responded to my blog post about modern trends in youth-oriented government programming. I offer the following quote from another hero of mine, and I challenge Alex and anyone else interested to respond to it:

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote that, and in doing so issued a challenge for all people- not just youth, but youth included. Let’s ponder that, and I’ll come back for more if anyone else responds.
