I was interviewed by Marshall Kirkpatrick for NetSquared on Friday. We had a spirited discussion about how Freechild currently uses technology to fulfill our mission, and what our plans for the future are.
I laid out what we’ve done in the past:
- Discussion forums (gone)
- Amazon links
- Amazon wishlist
- CafePress store
- TakingITGlobal partnership (done)
And what we’re beginning and plan to do in the future:
All of this is in-line with our belief that Freechild shouldn’t exist to duplicate services currently offered by other orgs, particularly those we like. But… there have to be more exciting, vibrant, and user-oriented ways to turn the web into a ambitious, useable tool for the masses of young people to generate social change. We’re looking for them. I’d love to hear what you think.
