Global Citizen Corps – from Netaid. Have you seen NetAid’s young leaders in action? In a nationwide day of action this month, high school students in the GCC rallied their communities to fight poverty and promote global development. They made video documentaries. They wrote op-eds. They mobilized thousands of students in school-wide campaigns. Read about them here.

Student Media Awards – from Dubai Media City. Journalism students worldwide have until March 15 to enter a competition to recognize young media talent, organized by Dubai Media City. The Ibda’a Media Students Awards – named for an Arabic word for creativity – have 10 categories: animation, TV documentary, film feature, print advertising, TV advertising, graphic design, analog photography, digital photography, journalism (non-news), and radio. New UNICEF Youth Voice site – from UNICEF. Designed in consultation with young people, this site has now replaced UNICEF UK’s The Rights Site. Aimed at 11 to 18-year-olds, the site provides young people with news and information, as well as tips on fundraising, campaigning and spreading the word about children’s rights. Find it here

Mattel Children’s Foundation – from Mattel. Through the Domestic Grants Program, nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. that directly serve children in need will be eligible for grants in amounts of $5,000 to $25,000. Learn more here.

Youth Service Day – from Youth Service America. Millions of youth will participate in National & Global Youth Service Day, the largest service event in the world held this year between April 21st and 23rd. They will tutor young children, engage in disaster relief, register new voters, educate their communities about good nutrition, distribute HIV/AIDS prevention materials and support their communities through service. Child Led Organisations: Self Assessment and Planning Tool – from Save the Children. A set of three new publications are intended to help strengthen support to child led initiatives and organisations: “Strengthening Support to Child Led Organisations and Initiatives: the Spider Tool. Self assessment and planning tool for child led initiatives and organisations.” Learn more here.
